Comfort, brought down to the floor
A toshak is a firm, padded floor cushion. Lay several around the edges of a room with long bolsters to lean on and you have a majlis, the traditional sitting room where tea is poured, stories are told and guests are honoured.
It seats far more people than a sofa ever could, folds away when you need the space, and brings a warmth to a room that furniture on legs simply cannot. Children love it. Guests remember it.
Every set we sell is handmade, and most are designed to sit beautifully on top of one of our Persian rugs.
Hand-tailored, built to be sat on
Each toshak is cut and sewn by hand from heavy upholstery-grade velvet and gold-threaded brocade, then filled to hold its shape under years of daily use. The seams are piped, the corners are true, and the covers are made to take the weight of real family life.
Bolsters and back cushions are made to match, so a set reads as one considered piece rather than a pile of odd cushions.
